We are thrilled to announce that Archimorphic will be honoured at the Asia Pacific Property Awards on 23 June 2022 for their project Sias Science Park. The ceremony event will be held in London. Archimorphic will compete against the best property professionals across the Asia Pacific regions to be recognised in the Mixed Use Architecture category.
20th Street Small Lot Subdivision is located within the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles and consists of five homes implementing the Los Angeles Small Lot Subdivision Ordinance. The 50-foot wide by 150-foot deep property originally contained a 3 bedroom single-family residence. Guided by the ordinance, the lot was subdivided into five individual, fee-simple lots. The design worked carefully to give each individual unit its’ own identity, but still maintaining an overall continuity of the project. The material palette breaks down the larger massing to a human-scale and adds a level of warmth. Furthermore, the project’s considerable amount outdoor space, in the form of balconies and roof decks, is a reflection of contemporary events and the desire for private outdoor space. This project is currently under Planning Review.
Luoya Tu, President of Archimorphic, was invited by National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) to be a guest speaker at the 2020 NCARB Licensing Advisor Retreat in late October. Ms. Tu facilitated a panel of like-minded Professional Architects to discuss the core values of architecture education and training, as well as the current architecture licensing process. The conversation was centered around how professional licensure provides a strong foundation for the potential future directions of practice and the profession.
Construction at the Hillside Residence is making great progress! The concrete walls and lid are already finished for the below grade Master Suite. The concrete and steel framing are also in place and completed for the Main Level. Currently underway is the framing of the roof, as well as the exterior and interior walls for both levels. This week, we are looking forward to the concrete pour of the pool. Stay tuned for more drone images of the progress.
The construction of the Hilts Villa multi-family project is progressing at a steady pace. The mat slab has been poured and the shotcrete walls have been sprayed, which create the “bath tub” like condition. This will mitigate the high-water table issues that have been causing issues for the project. Currently, the Basement Level 2 block walls are being constructed. The Basement Level 1 slab and concrete lid will follow and be poured within the next month. After those are complete, framing is anticipated to move quickly.
The Shuang He Lake Sales Center is currently under construction in Zhengzhou, China. This three story building will not only serve as a sales center, but also as a high end community center at a later stage. With this in consideration, we created flexible spaces for different function transformation and used simple geometry with a subtle move on facade to create a sense of future and technology. As construction progresses, we look forward to sharing site photos with you.
This long-awaited day is finally here. We are proud to announce that Haishang Plaza is officially open for business and to make the day even more special, it opens on Christmas Day! Residents of Zhengzhou have been patiently waiting for the final touches to be set in place for it’s Grand Opening. As the doors opened to the many stores this morning, people were lined up and eager to shop the aisles. The large outdoor plazas were also lively with people in holiday spirit.

Updates from Zhengzhou, China: Sias Business Park and Sias Residential projects are under construction and progressing quickly. This pair of projects began in our office in 2016 as some of the first projects under the Archimorphic name. It has been an exciting journey to nurture these projects to where they are today. Sias Business Park has finished the concrete for Clusters 9 and 10 and the remaining clusters are not too far behind. Sias Residential has completed the concrete for all towers and has received approval on the balcony mock-ups. We look forward to the completion of Sias Residential by the end of 2020.
We are delighted to announce that the Hanhai Sky Villa Flat has won the 2020 German Design Award for Excellent Architecture!
The German Design Award recognizes projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape, while identifying and presenting unique design trends that advance the design-oriented scene. The judging took place August 1st – 2nd in Frankfurt, where 46 international design masters reviewed and gave opinions on every entry.
After the German Design Council’s rigorous review, Archimorphic’s Hanhai Sky Villa Flat was awarded First Place of the Excellent Architecture Category for the 2020 German Design Awards. We could not be more honored.
Archimorphic was invited to the final round of evaluations at the 2019 World Architecture Festival. Yesterday, Luoya presented the Hanhai Luxury Condominium project to an expert panel of judges in Amsterdam. This project was shortlisted in the Housing Category of Completed Buildings.

Luoya Tu, President and founder of Archimorphic, was invited to be the keynote speaker at the 2019 Student Seminar hosted by the Hong Kong Association of Southern California. Luoya was honored to speak about her true life stories as an immigrant entrepreneur.
Throughout her journey to get to where she is today, she has learned: to never stop dreaming and to always work hard for those dreams, sometimes overcoming a challenge is as simple as changing the way you think about it, treat others the way you would like to be treated, and do not give up when others tell you no. These methodologies have helped Luoya get to where she is today and will shape how she will continue to grow.
Archimorphic founder Luoya Tu has been selected as a winner of PERSPECTIVE’S 40 UNDER 40 AWARDS 2019 in the Architecture category! On May 28th, Luoya Tu went to Hong Kong to receive the award.
The annual 40 Under 40 Awards recognise the generation of talented individuals who will and are leading the future of design. With this award, Luoya Tu joins in the rank of Asia’s top young architects.

Archimorphic was excited to participate in the University of Michigan’s Spring Break Connections Externship Program. This program connects current architecture students with practicing Michigan Alumni to gain insight and experience in their intended profession.
We really enjoyed the opportunity to host Jing, a Master of Urban Design student, for a week. We know she could have spent her Spring Break anywhere and we are happy she chose to spend it working hard with us. We wish Jing the best on her future professional path.
We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Ying Tao as The Vice President of Archimorphic. The Promotion recognizes the contributions Ying has made to Archimorphic during her tenure with the firm. She has started and led the growing Shanghai office for the past three years. And successfully continues to bridge the LA headquarters with the Shanghai Satellite office on a daily basis. She has led the marketing and business development force to promote and generate leads for the business in China Market. We are confident that she would bring a wealth of experience to her new role in the near future for even greater expansion of the office.
In December, the AIA SHANGHAI, an entity of the American Institute of Architects, has announced this year’s finalists of the Design Honor Awards, recognizing excellence and distinction in architecture, urban architecture, and interior architecture. With its outstanding architectural design and Sky Garden concept, Archimorphic’s Hanhai Luxury Condos, which is the signature project of this kind in Zhengzhou,defeated a number of residential projects, became 1 of the 2 finalists in the Housing Architecture Category.

Design Director and President Luoya Tu wins 2018 Chinese Construction Professionals Outstanding Award for Hilts Villa multifamily home project. A collaboration of Amphibianarc and Archimorphic, the project will transform the current single family house and the two-story apartment building on the two adjacent lots into a four-story, twelve-unit residential building, which will significantly increase the density and compactness of use of this urban site.
CACP has been recognizing professionals with lifetime achievements for many years. It’s the first time the Award focuses on project designed and built by Chinese American community. The Award is intended to set up examples inspiring Chinese American design and build community, enhancing competitiveness as a whole.
After a fierce competition, Hanhai Qingyu Luxurious Condominium won the Silver Award for Design of the year – 2017-2018 China Real Estate Design Awards. And Archimorphic won the Outstanding Design Contribution Award.
Qingyu Luxurious Condo is an award-winning project designed and completed by Archimorphic and amphibianArc. The China Real Estate Design Award is one of the most credible design awards in China. The competition received 658 entries by 214 participating institutions and from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Canada, Denmark, Peru and other countries and regions. 292 works of 156 institutions were shortlisted for the total 10 Golden and 10 Silver for Design of the Year Award.

The construction documents for the Guoling Li Residence have recently been completed. The project will start construction very soon. The Li Residence is trying to redefine the Chinese high-end home by creating a new typology called “Court-terrace,” which inherits both the poetic mood of the traditional courtyard and the dynamic gesture of the terrace.
The City of Pasadena grants Planning Approval for Archimorphic’s Hillside Residence! On May 3rd, Archimorphic attended the Pasadena Planning Hearing in support of the Hillside Residence. Initial pushback from neighbors was completely turned around with the new design scheme. Even after the city granted approval, neighbors asked to speak on record, praising the design and recommending that the architects should be commended for the beautiful project. One neighbor said they look forward to having the project as part of their neighborhood. Archimorphic is pleased the design was well received and looks forward to the start of construction.
Ningbo Yinzhou Civic Center construction is moving along quickly. The project broke ground in early January of this year. The formwork for the subterranean garage has been placed and poured. Soon the basement will be excavated as the construction continues down to the second subterranean floor of the garage. Stay tuned for more updates soon.

Haishang Plaza construction is well under way since breaking ground in April 2016. Construction has since begun on the East and North Loft towers as well as the West SOHO tower. Currently the East tower is up to the 9th floor, and the North and West towers are following slightly behind. Due to intense smog conditions, the construction has been on and off causing months of delay. The concrete frame is anticipated to be finished by May 2017 and the final completion of the Haishang Plaza is expected to be in May or June 2018.
Archimorphic, in collaboration with GDAD, were awarded 2nd place in the Yueke Technology Financial Group Headquarters Competition (Guangzhou, China). The company’s focus is on forming robust relationships between the financial sector and technology sector. Reflecting this, the design brings two distinct architectural languages into a coherent whole. The gold weaving bands capture the innovative spirit and provide indoor and outdoor green spaces to promote social interaction. Symbolically, the gold color conveys the nature of business, which is referred to as the “gold circulation” in the Chinese language. In contrast, rectilinear shapes, acting as formwork for the fluid forms, illustrate the permanence of the financial world.

The Sales Center of the Haishang Plaza project has been completed and open to the public. The sales center is a temporary structure to be used as a showroom of the shopping mall, a project that we are currently completing the Design Development Phase. This futuristic and monolithic structure was designed by Amphibian Arc. After serving as the sales center, the client intends to relocate the structure in to the main shopping mall when the construction is completed in 2020.
We are excited to announce that we are moving into our new DTLA home in Kajima Building, Little Tokyo! The office is located at 4th floor of the building with a great corner window view!!
We are pleased to announce that Archimorphic is commissioned for the design development of the Haishang Plaza, an upscale shopping center in Zhengzhou, China. The project is a 175,000 m2 mixed-used development project, and contains three 100-meter towers and 6-story commercial podium.
The construction of the project will commence by the end of the 2015.
